“MISSION SUNDAY CELEBRATION”
Mary Mother of The Church Parish-Taom, prefecture of Battambang 20 October, 2024. After the Mission Sunday Mass, the parish priest with some parishioners and youths visited some houses of the sick and the most needy regardless of religion around the parish and shared some rice packs as a gesture of love and concern to the most needy. This is also a learning experience for the parishioners and youth to be exposed to the pastoral activity of the Church and to become aware of thier missionary calling. The youths also committed to plant a tree around the parish compound.
The Rice packs are coming from a generous donor from St John Parish - Siem Reap. Those who recieved are also encouraged to share what they recieved to their neighbours; esp. the most needy and the sick.
The parish community also gathered 43,500 riels ($10.73) to be transmitted to the prefecture office then to the Vatican for the Universal Fund of Solidarity that the Pontifical Society of the Propagation of Faith (POPF) then distributes in the Pope's name for the needs of all the Church's missions
